| Miamber sometmes has young adults and ex-breeding cats for adoption. There is nothing wrong with these cats, its simply a case of the Burmilla breeding program having to move on through the generations, and our extremely small gene pool, some of our breeding cats have limited use within our programs. Far better that these cats find their way onto the end of your bed to live out their lives in comfort and with individual attention than to live as part of a large group. Adoptees are available at a very reduced cost to the right homes, they are NOT free. I have discovered after years of breeding that people who do not have to pay for a pet usually do not appreciate it as much and in fact if they cannot afford to pay the limited amount I am asking for an Adoptee, they shouldn't have a cat, as they probably can't afford to take proper care of it if anything should go wrong later on and the cat requires veterinary care. Cats often live until a ripe old age of 16 years and require good food and regular health checks to ensure that they are kept in good health, in fact they are a considerable longterm financial and emotional investment. Taking an adoptee can be the best thing you've ever done, they usually have grown out of the kitten "sillies" and are mature and settled, as the breeder I can recommend a cat or kitten for your particular situation. Living at close hand gives me an insight into each unique personality and temperament. Providing information about yourself and your lifestyle helps this process. Please do think seriously about what you are about to do, and understand, when you buy a cat or kitten you are making a committment for the term of the animals life, animals do not come with a Manufacturers lifetime satisfaction or money back guarantee, you need to work at them to make them perfect and well behaved pets. Breeders do the work in creating a beautiful, healthy and intelligent animal, the rest is up to you. I do take Burmilla cats and kittens from our breeding back for rehoming in special circumstances, please do not ask me to buy them back, as it takes money and time to house, feed and advertise a cat for rehoming and I don't actually get much financial renumeration for them |
