Buying a Miamber Kitten
Currently, as far as I am aware,  there are only two Registered breeders of Burmilla in Victoria,
there is no such thing as an Australian Tiffanie in the CCC of A and ACF Registries, beware of
breeders marketing Australian Tiffanie as Burmilla Long Hairs, there are some differences.
Miamber is registered with GCCFV. When buying any pedigree kitten make sure the breeder is
a Registered breeder by checking with breeders registering body , here in Victoria that will be
the FCCV, GCCFV or CAV. Breeders who are issuing pedigrees without being a registered
breeder are committing fraud, kittens from unregistered breeders with registered parents might
be purebred, but certainly are not pedigreed.
Miamber Burmilla are always sold desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. Due to current local
government by-laws regarding registration of kittens, from the end of July, Miamber kittens will
now be available to their homes at the age of 12 weeks, but not before 10 weeks.

12 week old Shorthair kittens cost $600.00
12 week old Semi-Long Hair kittens cost $700.00
Reservation deposit is $150.00
Freight is extra and the cost is borne by the purchaser. You will need an airline approved carry
cage for your kitten to fly in, you can post this to me, or you can purchase one from me for
$60.00 details on the
Accessories page

Miamber kittens  are bred from DNA PKD tested and negative cats, and are guaranteed
against PKD.
I  am serious about breeding and advancing the breed properly, so I don't have a mish mash of
different breeds in my cattery, Burmillas are my main objective!
I pride myself on the cleanliness of the cats environment, the amount of time and effort invested
in rearing a healthy, happy and well socialised kitten who will make a great pet as well as the
time I put into creating satisfied kitten owners.
The look of my kittens is important, as is evidenced by the titled, Kitten and Cat of the Year
placings I have bred, but when you consider 99% of my kittens are going to be pets, health and
temperament is really important too.
I do offer a health guarantee on my kittens, however I do not do "try before you buy"  or a "buy
back service". Please understand, when you buy a kitten you are making a committment for the
term of the animals life, animals do not come with a lifetime satisfaction or money back
guarantee, you need to work at them to make them perfect pets. Breeders do the work in
creating a beautiful, healthy and intelligent animal, the rest is up to you.
I have many happy humans currently owned by my kittens who can attest to this, in writing.
When making enquiries about a Miamber kitten please provide some information about yourself
and what specifically you are looking for in your future pet.
Occasionally I will have an ex- breeding cat or older kitten for which I will negotiate Adoption
costs. You will find these on my
Adoption Page

The photo  below is of my purpose built kitten room, it is spacious, clean and safe for kittens.
My girls give birth in there, the kittens spend most of their time when someone is not home in
this room where it is safe. The room is pleasant enough for me and my children to spend quite
a bit of time in there reading and playing with the kittens for them to be socialised. It is a cheap
shot for another breeder to comment about a "far away designer room" knowing nothing about
our home or rearing practices, many breeders have separate rooms for their queens to rear
their kittens in peace, including the
same breeder who made the comment.  Our kittens have
the run of this half of the house when we around to supervise them and play with them.

Some thoughts on Male versus Female
Many people this season are enquiring about female kittens. There is a perception that
females are cleaner, quieter and more affectionate and will not spray or wander. As Burmilla
kittens are desexed at 10-11 weeks before hormones begin to develop gender issues in your
new kitten it is extremely unlikely that your male kitten will ever display the undesirable traits
that were seen in kittens from previous generations that were desexed later. Almost every
breeder you will speak to, of any breed, will tell you that males are more loving, affectionate
and human interactive, and my own experience with my children has shown me that they are
more likely to tolerate and enjoy the company of children. Females can be a little more
standoffish and accepting of attention on their own terms.
Both males and female desexed cats can spray if stressed enough, both male and females will
wander if allowed outside.
Truthfully, if considering purchasing a pair of kittens, or integrating a kitten with an older cat,  I
have found the combination of male and female together to be a good one, equally two males
together is also good, and many of my kittens owners enjoy either of these two combinations.
Your Burmilla should be a valued and loved member of your family and should never be
allowed outside, regardless of whether it is a male or female. .

I breed Cats - Not dogs, Not Mice, Not Rabbits - CATS.

I am a cat breeder; not a pet store, and this is my home, not a retail outlet. I can not guarantee
having a kitten of a specific color or sex available on demand. Those kittens listed on my website or
that I tell you I have available are what I have. Just because you decided today that you want a
kitten does not mean that I have one available for you to take home today.

I am a cat breeder. I am not a travelling sales man I will not bring a selection of kittens to your home
for you to look over;  I will happily send you photos and spend ages on the phone. All kittens
marked as reserved on my site or I say are not available are not available. The age and availability
dates that I list on my site are NON negotiable; I will not sell a kitten before I feel that it is ready to go
to it's new home.

I am a cat breeder. I am not a bargain basement clearance store if you are looking for a kitten at a
bargain rate; keep looking, you will not find it here. Every kitten that I have is raised with all the
loving attention that I can give it, have spent many many hours cleaning litter boxes, feeding,
watering and worrying over each and every one.

I am a cat breeder. I spend hours on the phone, the internet and in person answering the questions
of each prospective buyer. I answer the same questions time after time, even though that
information is clearly listed on my web site. I answer the questions and put up with the rude
behaviour of buyers who are upset that they can't get what they want when they want it.

I am a cat breeder. I spend countless hours learning more about how to raise kittens better and
more about my specific breed. I spend enormous amounts of money at the vets and buying cat
related supplies such as litter and food. IF you broke down what I bring in on each kitten as "profit"
I would be making cents per hour.
I am a cat breeder. I spend much money, many hours preparing for, travelling to and attending cat
shows. And am thrilled to bring home a two dollar rosette. I enjoy the camaraderie of other breeders
and admire their cats even when their cat beats mine.
I am a cat breeder and I Love My Cats.
